Team

We manage our business with very competent and well trained staff.

All of our staff are fully trained in machinery operation and health and safety and are up to date in the latest techniques. We maintain a regular training programme to ensure we comply with regulations. We have quarterly meetings to update our HSE policy and produce risk assessments for all operations with regular Risk Management Service Audits undertaken by the National Farmers Union. All required paperwork is available to the Farmer at any time.

John Owen has managed the business since the death of his father in 1983.

Chris Owen obtained a degree in History at Kings College London and then came back to the farm to work 10 years ago. In 2017 Chris undertook the Advanced Course in Agricultural Business Management under the Worshipful Company of Farmers which developed his leadership, management and public speaking skills. Chris is also BASIS qualified.

Tom Owen obtained a degree in Geography and Planning at Newcastle University, and then obtained a Masters in Rural Estate Management from Cirencester after which he came back to the farm to work 8 years ago.

Chris Morgan studied at Walford College and has worked for the business on and off since he was 15 years of age, re-joining in 2010. He is a highly experienced mechanic and plays a big role in the day to day running of the business.

Sylvia Fathers has worked as secretary for the farming business for 42 years and so has extensive experience of the administrative requirements of running contract farming agreements.
